What You'll Do
- Responsible for ensuring the seamless transition of carbon projects from the business development and sales phase to successful delivery.
- Managing and overseeing the execution of projects post-contracting, ensuring that they are delivered with high quality, on time, and within budget
- Work closely with internal teams, project stakeholders, and external partners to monitor progress, mitigate risks, and ensure project success.
- Project Oversight & Coordination : Act as the primary point of contact for all post-contract activities, ensuring smooth handover of projects from the business development and sales teams. Lead coordination between internal teams (e.g., technical, finance, operations) to ensure that project milestones, targets, and timelines are met.
- Quality Assurance : Ensure projects are delivered in accordance with the highest quality standards, meeting both internal and external expectations for carbon project performance, compliance, and sustainability.
- Timeline & Target Management : Establish and track project timelines, ensuring all deliverables are met on schedule. Regularly report on project progress, identifying potential risks and providing solutions to mitigate delays.
- Stakeholder Management : Foster strong relationships with project stakeholders, including clients, contractors, suppliers, regulatory bodies, and environmental partners. Manage communications, expectations, and project status updates to all parties involved.
- Performance Monitoring : Implement processes to monitor project performance, including tracking key performance indicators (KPIs), environmental impact targets, and financial metrics to ensure project success.
- Risk Management : Identify potential project risks (technical, operational, financial, regulatory) and proactively work to address and mitigate them to ensure project success.
- Reporting & Documentation : Maintain detailed project documentation, including reports, schedules, and risk assessments. Prepare regular reports on project status, quality assurance, and performance metrics for senior management.
- Continuous Improvement : Support the development of best practices for carbon project delivery, ensuring that lessons learned are incorporated into future projects. Provide feedback and suggestions for improving project management processes, tools, and systems.
What This Role Needs
- A degree in Environmental Science, Engineering, Business Administration, Project Management, or a related field is preferred. Relevant certifications (e.g., PMP, Prince2) are a plus
- Proven experience in managing the delivery of complex projects, preferably within the environmental, sustainability, or carbon markets sector.
- Strong background in project management, with knowledge of carbon project methodologies and regulations.
- Experience in managing cross-functional teams and working with external stakeholders in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong project management and organizational skills, with an ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to manage relationships with clients, contractors, and regulatory agencies.
- Detail-oriented with a strong focus on quality assurance and risk management.
- Problem-solving mindset and ability to address challenges proactively.
- Familiarity with carbon accounting, environmental sustainability frameworks, and carbon credit verification processes is a plus
