Agricultural innovation is at the forefront of the fight against climate change. On February 22, 2025, Edufarmers International and Pemuda Tani Indonesia hosted the Agrinnovation Conference, themed “The Latest Tech & Trends in Farming.” The event brought together farmers, industry leaders, agritech startups, government officials, investors, and academics to discuss groundbreaking developments in regenerative agriculture, carbon farming, artificial intelligence (AI) in agriculture, genetically modified organisms (GMOs), and Indonesia’s agricultural future.
Indonesia’s President Prabowo Subianto delivered an opening keynote speech, highlighting the national commitment to food security through his Nutritional Food Program and Indonesia Emas 2045 vision. Additional keynote sessions featured Fadli Zon, Minister of Culture, and Andi Amran Sulaiman, Minister of Agriculture, who provided insights into the government’s strategic direction for sustainable agriculture.
One of the most anticipated sessions was the panel discussion, “Carbon Farming: Can Indonesian Farmers Reap the Rewards of the Carbon Market Revolution?”, moderated by Heru Prama Yuda, agriculture specialist and consultant at the World Bank. Natalia Rialucky Marsudi, CEO of Fairatmos, shared her expertise on the economic potential of agricultural carbon credits and how technology-driven carbon markets can empower smallholder farmers.
Joining Natalia on the panel were Anshari Rahman from Verra, a leading global standard for carbon credits, and Fitrian Ardiansyah, Humphrey Fellow on Climate Change, who provided additional perspectives on the challenges and opportunities in carbon farming.
Carbon Farming: A Game Changer for Indonesia, with its vast agricultural sector contributing significantly to national emissions, stands at a crucial turning point. Transitioning to climate-smart agriculture not only aids in emission reduction but also enhances farmer livelihoods. Our CEO, Natalia Marsudi emphasized how carbon credit generation can bring greater financial benefits to smallholder farmers rather than large corporations, underscoring the role of Fairatmos’ cutting-edge carbon monitoring technology in ensuring transparency and integrity in the carbon market.
Driving Impact Through Innovation
As the world moves toward net-zero emissions, integrating regenerative agriculture with carbon finance will be essential. With Fairatmos leading the way, more farmers can gain access to sustainable financing and carbon markets, ensuring a greener, more resilient agricultural industry.
The future is here, and Indonesia is leading the way.
