Fairatmos Day 1 at COP30: Advancing Restoration and Market Integrity from Indonesia to the World
News

Belem, Brazil - November 2025
Day 1 of COP30 was an energizing start for Fairatmos as we joined key global and national leaders to discuss how large-scale restoration can truly deliver lasting climate impact, when supported by the right market dynamics and pricing mechanisms.
Earlier in the morning, our CEO Natalia Rialucky attended a breakfast hosted by COP30 President Ambassador André Corrêa do Lago and COP30 CEO Ana Toni, joined by Elim Sritaba (APP). The conversation revolved around PACM (Platform for Accelerating Carbon Markets) as a catalyst for regional demand for high-quality, transparent carbon credits, a shared vision Fairatmos strongly supports.

In the mid day, at the Indonesia Pavilion, Fairatmos participated in a panel session "Scaling Landscape Restoration Through Carbon Finance and Partnerships" featuring:
-
Jack Hurd, Executive Director, Tropical Forest Alliance, World Economic Forum
-
Marissa Drew, Chief Sustainability Officer, Standard Chartered
-
Emily Landis, Climate and Ocean Director, The Nature Conservancy
-
Jasmine Doloksaribu, Head of Corporate Landscape Conservation & Environment, APP Group
-
Edo Mahendra, Principal Advisor to the Minister of Forestry, Ministry of Forestry
The discussion focused on the urgent need to align restoration finance with long-term ecological and community outcomes. As carbon markets mature, the question is no longer if restoration can deliver, but how it can scale effectively without losing quality or equity.
The session emphasized a key message: buyers must be willing to pay the right price to ensure restoration projects deliver on their full promise, supporting not just carbon sequestration, but also biodiversity, local livelihoods, and economic resilience.
Following the session, we had the honor to meet Minister of Environment Pak Hanif Faisol, where we shared updates on one of our upcoming restoration projects that will be showcased at the Seller Meet Buyer session on 17-18 of November at COP30. This marks an exciting step forward for Indonesia’s contribution to global nature-based solutions and transparent carbon markets.
The day concluded with a milestone announcement, the launch of Article 6.2 Implementation Guidelines, led by Benedict Chia (National Secretariat of Climate Change, Singapore), Hugh Salway (Principal, Gold Standard), Maggie Kim (CEO, Gold Standard), and Mandy Rambharos (CEO, Verra). This framework sets a clear path for international cooperation in carbon trading, ensuring integrity, transparency, and accountability in cross-border transactions.
