PT Udara Untuk Semua has officially signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with PT Pupuk Indonesia (Persero), marking the beginning of a strategic synergy to develop Nature-Based Solution (NBS) projects across Indonesia.

This collaboration brings together the agility and technological expertise of Fairatmos specializing in carbon project development with the scale and industrial capacity of PT Pupuk Indonesia (Persero), a leading state-owned enterprise (BUMN) in the fertilizer, petrochemical, and agro-industry sectors.

A Strategic Alignment at the Carbon Digital Conference

Formalized in the presence of industry leaders, this partnership was highlighted during the Carbon Digital Conference at the Bandung Institute of Technology. The agreement was signed by our Director, Natalia Rialucky Tampubolon, and Jamsaton Nababan, Director of Technical & Business Development for PT Pupuk Indonesia (Persero).

The MoU serves as a foundation for both parties to explore mutually beneficial opportunities that support the nation's development while adhering to Good Corporate Governance (GCG) principles.

Key Pillars of the Collaboration

The primary objective of this partnership is to explore and develop Nature-Based Solutions (NBS) as part of a broader initiative to reduce greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions. The scope of our cooperation is comprehensive, covering several critical areas:

• Restoration and Reforestation: We will identify and utilize potential lands for mangrove restoration and other greening activities. This includes planning and executing restoration projects that are integrated with carbon management. 

• Agroforestry Carbon Projects: A major focus will be the development and implementation of carbon projects based on agroforestry. Fairatmos will provide essential support in technical aspects, administration, and monitoring to ensure project integrity.

• Community Empowerment: Sustainability is about people as much as it is about the planet. Our joint activities aim to increase community capacity and participation in projects that are both environmentally friendly and economically valuable.

• Productive Land Use: We aim to encourage land utilization that is productive, lasting, and aligned with sustainable principles.

Targeting High-Impact Locations

Beyond general frameworks, this MoU sets the stage for exploring specific, high-potential sites. The partnership will actively explore funding opportunities and strategic alliances to support potential projects such as:

• The Nunukan Mangrove and Peatland Project.

• The Tana Tidung Mangrove initiative.

• The Tamiang Ecosystem Project.

These projects represent our commitment to not only studying feasibility but moving toward concrete implementation that supports decarbonization and climate resilience.

This partnership is valid for an initial period of one year, with opportunities for extension as we progress. It represents a "Study" phase where we will produce desk studies to determine the feasibility of these ambitious projects.
